It’s (almost) officially fall! Such a great time of year when the temperatures start to drop, the plant (and weed!) growth begins to slow and the peaceful rest of winter lies on the horizon. The fall equinox is this Wednesday, September 23rd, and the night of September 27th we'll be seeing the full Harvest Moon in the sky. The past week here on the farm has felt more like the middle of summer than the end of it, but this coming week promises much more tolerable temperatures.
As of right now, all of our plants and seeds for the season are in the ground - a bittersweet benchmark indicating the beginning of the end of a terrific season. We still have broccoli and cabbage to look forward to, but start to say goodbye to some of our summer favorites, cucumbers and peppers. As the weather changes, so does the farm, and in turn, so does dinner. A beautiful cycle that I never get sick of. Hope everyone is enjoying the flavors of the season.
